Thoracochromis brauschi is a haplochromide cichlid from Lake Fwa in central Zaire which is now known as  the New Republic of the Congo.  The 1 1/2 inch (4 cm) dominant male is pictured below.

Below is the sub-dominant male.  The color comes and goes in the sub-dominant male quite a bit but there is always a bit of the "blood throat" evident.

Below is a picture of the 1 inch (2.5 cm) female.

I purchased 2 male and 4 female Thoracochromis brauschi from a local aquarium store in December of 2005.  The common name for this cichlid is "blood Throat".  The brauschi feed on Vallisneria and algae and grow to about 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) long.  I am growing mine out in a single species 46 gallon bowfront tank.

Above the dominant male is in the center surrounded by three females.
